WORLD VISION CONNECTS 90+ GLOBAL OFFICES
This humanitarian institution changed its digital asset management platform, and in the process connected the assets of more than 90 offices across the globe.
World Vision was founded in 1950 to provide humanitarian aid to children around the world. It now has offices in 90+ countries, generates more than $2 billion in aid each year, and sponsors 3.4 million children. Its offices operate independently but share images, videos, documents, and other assets across the World Vision Partnership.
World Vision wanted a central source of truth for the whole organization, with reliability for hard-to-reach locations, robust reporting, strong video support, and integrations with Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Photoshop.
“Everything that we receive as far as money goes is a trust, a sacred trust from people who have dug into their monthly budget and decided to put $40 a month towards child sponsorship. So we have to make sure that we're using money wisely.”
— Daniel Mason, Senior Manager, Global Content, World Vision International
Multiple DAM platforms required duplicate licenses and couldn’t support video. Many users abandoned them for Dropbox and Google Drive, creating a fragmented system that couldn’t scale or integrate with the tools users needed.
World Vision International chose Orange DAM and named it Story Hub.
Intuitive user experience: Metadata-based keyword suggestions and curated collections help users of all ability levels.
Reliability: “Having 24/7, globally reliable infrastructure was super important to us,” Daniel said.
Integrations: Strong connections to Adobe Creative Cloud.
Sharing content right from the DAM: Linking and embedding directly from the DAM was a key differentiator.
Speed: Story Hub handled uploads from the field, even during natural disasters like Cyclone Idai.
All 90+ offices regularly pull content from Story Hub, and 12 offices have their own private DAM connected to one central repository. Users are up 320% since launch, uploads 380%, and downloads 416%.
World Vision USA embargoed its Chosen® campaign content and then shared it internationally; almost half of Chosen® sponsorships in the first half of 2021 came from outside the USA. During Cyclone Idai, over 90% of offices used Story Hub content, helping raise $11 million for relief.
“During emergency appeals, the graph of the money coming in and the graph of the downloads in Story Hub match almost perfectly.”
— Daniel Mason, World Vision International
Adoption gets a boost when the system is easy to use.
Your DAM should fit into your existing workflows, not the other way around.
Curated collections help users find materials. 60% of 2020 downloads came from Story Hub’s homepage.
