Concord Release Notes: What's New in Orange DAM

Here is a quick summary of the updates in Orange DAM Concord, released in November 2022. This release includes integrations with Figma and Getty Images, two new reports, and new features related to Advanced Search, Conditions, Forms, Workspaces, Filters, and more.

New Features Activated by Default

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search has an Additional Conditions section that lets you search for assets based on the content of a specific field. The list of fields in Additional Conditions often gets long, so you may want to hide certain fields from general contributors.

For example, say most metadata fields are available as Additional Conditions, but you only want most staff members to see the Title, Description, and Asset Date fields. Orange Logic can configure these fields so that only administrators see every field in the drop-down menu, while the rest of the staff sees those three. To hide fields from a set of users, submit a support request.

Asset Management: Custom Fonts and Colors

You can now add custom fonts and colors to your instance of Orange DAM.

Conditions Based on Roles

In Orange DAM, a Project is an Asset Type used to track all information, assets, and communication related to a project in your organization. For example, the marketing team can create a Project asset named "Social Media Campaign," track its deadlines and tasks, and assign users to it.

Users are assigned to Projects through Roles, specified in the Roles widget. For example, the Assigned To Role designates the person responsible for a Project's action items. With Concord, these Roles can be configured as Conditions in several Orange DAM features.

Dark Mode Logo

You can send Orange Logic a Dark Mode version of your logo. When users switch to Dark Mode, Orange DAM automatically switches to that version so the interface looks cohesive and follows your brand guidelines. If you don't have a Dark Mode logo, Orange DAM uses your existing logo. To update your Dark Mode logo, submit a support request.

Email Notifications

Gmail can't properly render SVGs in email notifications. If your organization uses an SVG logo, you can send Orange Logic a PNG or JPG version, and we'll use it for email notifications only.

Figma Integration

Orange DAM now integrates with Figma. Add the Orange DAM Asset Browser to your Figma design to bring in assets from Orange DAM, and upload Figma assets to Orange DAM without leaving Figma.

Ingest From Google Cloud Storage

Orange DAM now supports asset ingest from Google Cloud Storage buckets.

Orange DAM Mobile

Concord introduces a number of bug fixes for the mobile version of Orange DAM.

Reports

Two new reports are available, plus a new attribute in the Assets List report. To access Orange DAM reports, go to Administration > Reports.

• Users Assigned Permission to the Virtual Folder. Lists all assets inside a Virtual Folder and the Permissions assigned to each asset, along with the users who have Permission to access the Virtual Folder itself. When you run the report, choose a Virtual Folder from the Parent drop-down menu.
• Virtual Folder Hierarchy. Shows where a Virtual Folder and its assets sit in the folder hierarchy. Choose a folder in the Library, and the report lists all the Virtual Folders and their child assets in that folder.
• Assets List Report: Has Versions. Orange DAM tracks every version of an asset, so you can compare versions, delete a version, or restore a previous one. Select the Has Versions checkbox to list all assets with more than one version.

Forms

Two new features are available for Forms:

• Update Roles based on Forms. When users complete a form, they can add a user, who is then automatically added to a role on the project based on their answer. To set up a form, submit a support request.
• Update metadata based on Forms. When users upload assets through a form, they can add metadata such as title, headline, description, and date directly in the form. That information then appears in the asset's Details tab.

Workspaces

If you save a Workspace widget as a time graph, you can now reset the graph to start from today's date. For example, if you use a Workspace to review videos for a marketing campaign, you can reset the graph once the campaign launches.

The graph immediately resets to one data point, starting on the day you reset it. When a new campaign starts and new videos are uploaded, you'll see a new graph from the reset date onward. Resetting the time graph doesn't change the number of assets in the Workspace; it only changes the date the graph starts tracking data.

New Features Deactivated by Default

API Authentication With OAuth 2.0

If you don't want to enter a user's credentials to obtain a token or cookie, you can authenticate using OAuth 2.0. Submit a support request, and Orange Logic will activate this option for you.

Collections

Users can now share Collections with non-registered users and request Permissions for those users to view the assets in the Collection. Super Admins can then approve or reject the Permission requests.

Filters Pop-Up Mode

If the list of filters in a category is very long, you may prefer to see them all in a separate window. Orange Logic can activate Pop-Up Mode, so when a user clicks More, a pop-up window shows every Filter in that category. To activate Pop-Up Mode for any of your Filter Categories, submit a support request.

Getty Images Integration

Orange DAM now integrates with Getty Images, so you can search for assets in Getty Images and add them to Orange DAM without leaving the DAM.
